Even when we are down in the dumps we can lift ourselves out just by giving support to another sister!

So we are on this amazing journey – as amazing as it is, it can be a lonely one for some women. For some of us, we are alone by choice.  Another set of us may not reach out, thinking we will not be understood…and there are many other thoughts that flow through our brain as to why we want to be alone in this journey of life.

This morning despite knowing better and understanding the importance of support I too felt like going through alone.

So I am in a pensive mood, wondering whether or not I am in the right place. Wondering if my journey thus far is making sense and are the decisions I am making founded on Godly principles.

Can any of you identify?

My phone rings. I look at who is calling and am not surprised. She talks to me for a few minutes and I am hoping my responses sound as normal as possible, then she says… “how you sound so?”
Stop! That is a Jamaican slang before you say my grammar construction is off…

I am not surprised, although I do feign surprise. “I am okay,” is my response even though I know it would not be accepted. She is very discerning.

To cut a long story short, all I am saying is that as women we should not go through alone, especially when we know we do not have to. Seek the support you need and in return be available to support by listening and being present when needed.

We should move away from our own situations occasionally so as to witness the pain and struggles of another sister, then quickly encourage and reaffirm their strengths that are sometimes forgotten.

We must be there for our sisters…

Even when we are down in the dumps we can lift ourselves out by supporting another sister in need!
