In a 75 year history, a woman has broken through what can be considered a glass ceiling. She will take up the position of Chairman (can we get this changed to Chairwoman) of the Police federation of The Jamaica Constabulary Force.

Of course, we (here at TheBeyondWoman) are breaking out the champagne and filling our flutes in celebration alongside Corporal Arlene McBean.

She will be representing about 14,000 members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force at the rank of sub-officers and constables.

Constable McBean has spearheaded training in many different areas to include Advocacy and Representation in collaboration with the Norman Manley Law School. She has also coordinated several training seminars and workshops in many divisions and sections.

Corporal McBean is  referred to and remembered by members for the genuine manner in which she represents them. She is no stranger to success, having spearheaded the Hair Style project which has enabled the women of the Jamaica Constabulary to look more feminine; as they are now allowed to wear small fashionable knobs and braids.  Read more here .

We wish Corporal McBean all the very best and success in this unprecedented election.
