When you think about “woman” the usual first thoughts include female of course, capable of many things, child bearer, homemaker, perhaps an ample shape, softness and more. As much as all of the attributes listed are wonderful, wouldn’t you prefer “first thoughts” that were more meaningful and allowed you the individual and your true value to shine through.
You want your intangible attributes to immediately shine through. You want your aspirations and desires and what you represent as an individual to be the first thoughts! And even though you were fashioned from Adam’s rib, “he did say, bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh” and that puts you beside him (his support), and not behind him. That’s how you want to be seen.’
In Proverbs 31 we read about the signs of the ideal woman;
- She is industrious and capable of running her home.
- She is a business mogul who knows how to invest and build wealth for her family.
- She is industrious and watches her investments to ensure she gets a good return!
- She makes the most of her days and believes in herself and her capabilities.
- She senses the worth and value of her work, and is in no hurry to call it quits.
- She’s quick to help others and never worries because her game plan is always on point.
- She always have in reserve to assist anyone in need and she helps the poor.
- She is always elegantly attired and when she speaks people listen.
- She ensures that productivity is high.
- She is a role model to her children who respect and bless her and her husband joins in with words of praise.
A hard shoe to fill, perhaps… but we know some of our women are crushing their goals and rising to the high expectations and ideal of the Proverbs 31 woman. She sure is one to follow!

For too long we have allowed others to impose their own perceptions on who we truly are. We also have allowed society, our men etc. to put us in their mould when we need to have our own identity shaped by us. We welcome you to use our varied definitions of a Beyond Woman if you can identify. Start there and overtime begin to take your own shape and apply your standards of what you represent as a woman. We are all not perfect and we are still working through these things but the above are what we strive for every day in or own way
