10 Practical Tips To Living Your Best Life In 2022

Read Time: 3 minutes:

The new year is upon us. Ahhh! Based on the last 2 years, I know you would unhesitantly purchase the “How to…2022” manual (that’s if they had one) to preempt difficulties and effortlessly navigate the unknown. However, that is not possible. It’s not even necessary. Along with old adages, there are many tips and tricks to live your best life in 2022.

Here are the 10.

Stand in your truth
Scott Stabile, a self-help writer, reminded, “Your truth
Let them judge you.
Let them misunderstand you.
Let them gossip about you.
Their opinions aren’t your problem.
You stay kind, committed to love,
and free in your authenticity.
No matter what they do or say,
don’t you dare doubt your worth
or the beauty of your truth.
Just keep on shining as you do.”

Normalize saying no
Learn that no is not always a negative word, in fact, there are plenty of benefits in rejecting certain requests and thoughts. You will feel in control, dismiss unwanted company and make time for yourself. Say it out loud and proud, NO!

Stop putting off goals
We often compromise on our goals due to our life circumstances or our own limiting beliefs. Dear sisters, please put yourselves first. The world will not stop to wait for you to finish school, to get married, or until you stop caring too much about what others think. Set those SMART goals and achieve them!

Pursue your passion
What sparks your interest? What could you do all day without complaining? Find your passion and pursue it fervently. Develop the skills for that area of interest and use them to contribute to something beyond yourself. This could become your livelihood. Lives are to be touched, and money is to be made!

Create a bucket list
Whether something major like visiting the Alps or as simple as taking a road trip to Kingston, our bucket list is all the achievements we would like to have before we kick the bucket. It gives us something to look forward to. Much like our lives, this list can be continuously altered and updated. Let’s not wait until we are on death beds before making those lists!

Focus on solutions
To live a progressive life, you will need to focus on solutions instead of dwelling on problems. The pandemic has taught us all too well. Newly tailored clothes were no longer in demand, and so dressmakers turned to mask-making; firms utilized the Zoom app for meetings when boardrooms were forbidden. Solutions, solutions, solutions!

Forget speaking negatively about others
A part of being solution-oriented is not becoming the problem itself. Speaking negatively about others is a big problem. Until you have the initiative to speak directly to the person about him/herself or offer useful advice, do not say anything. We often do more harm than good when we spew destructive statements. The words we speak reflect who we are much more than what we feel.

Put a little pep in your step
I assure you that 2022 will not slow down for your dainty stroll, neither will it be a walk in the park. So with heels, crocs, sneakers, or sandals, or even bare feet, put a little pep in your step. Walk with confidence. Lift your chin. Square your shoulders. Move with purpose!

Inspire someone
Intentionally motivate someone. Be their mentor. You need not take a stage to make a speech, however, by radiating kindness, truth, empathy, and security, your very presence will stimulate a desire in others to be like you or better yet, to be their best selves.

Live
Life is just for living. Do not let 2022 find you complaining or complacent. Live like there is no tomorrow. Be so sure when you speak. Do not be afraid to make mistakes. Love everyone. Be responsible. Be you. Live!

Which of these do you need to work on? Which do you need as part of your self-development journey? 2022 is yours to conquer. Live your best life now. Go forth, dearest!
