Making Good Brands Great – Tishan Wade-Lee

Tishan grew up in Kingston under the nurturing of a single mom whom she describes as the hardest working woman she has ever seen. She was also privy to her mother’s creativity of turning what others considered as garbage into a work of art. To cement this point she quickly introduces me to the extraordinary desk that occupies space in her modest yet nicely furnished office.
The desk was simply superb made from an old mahogany door and the frame of an older type sewing machine with glass placed on top. Incidentally all the desks that occupy Engine Room are made in the same fashion.

One of the highlights of her journey is …

I can now only wish you much love and light as together we continue to forge ahead with an understanding that we must play our part as women in the continued fight for equality and a platform that allows us to be heard.

The Day My Washing Machine Had To Be Unplugged.

For the umpteenth time I feel like tearing my hair out. Today is one of those days filled with unnecessary nuisances. HOW INVESTED IN THIS LIFE ARE YOU?

How invested in this life are you?

Our level of investment is directly correlated to our commitment and our outcome. It has to be significant and substantial in order for us to achieve optimally.

Ithought about our relationships and the reason why we are so fickle sometimes. Is it possible that we are not substantially emotionally invested in them and so we call it quits the moment something goes awry. A substantial emotional investment will force us to remain committed because we cannot afford to lose what we have put in.

IT IS OKAY TO WANT MORE

I always reflect on the story of Adam and Eve in the garden, just the other day my husband and I were making light of the situation and saying that Adam surely was not Jamaican because if he was, he would not have given in to the temptation of an apple. Now, if it was nice steaming Oxtail… perhaps, but definitely not an apple…

As women we are pretty much hardwired into routine and norms and how we must operate. The moment we break free of those confines it becomes hard, scary, seemingly impossible. You were made in your Father’s image. I think most of us accept how God went about creating the world because we must, because we have to, because we believe in the Bible. If we were to stop and become really honest with ourselves, we would admit to finding God’s methods rather UNCONVENTIONAL…Eve was made from a rib…Hello!!! Come on, really… And so it is (also) with our methods to becoming more. They will seem unconventional… We invite you to read this interesting writing that is sure to inspire…click below.

20 Habits To Keep Us On Track Always

“So many times I have promised myself that “this time” things will be different. It is like a love-hate relationship with myself when it comes to becoming a better version of myself.
