YOUR INNER CIRCLE

“It seems the older we get, the tighter our inner circle becomes. When life has you down, some of those you thought had your back run, others…sometimes strangers surprise you and fill that empty space up… Read more below…

HOW INVESTED IN THIS LIFE ARE YOU?

How invested in this life are you?

Our level of investment is directly correlated to our commitment and our outcome. It has to be significant and substantial in order for us to achieve optimally.

Ithought about our relationships and the reason why we are so fickle sometimes. Is it possible that we are not substantially emotionally invested in them and so we call it quits the moment something goes awry. A substantial emotional investment will force us to remain committed because we cannot afford to lose what we have put in.

IT IS OKAY TO WANT MORE

I always reflect on the story of Adam and Eve in the garden, just the other day my husband and I were making light of the situation and saying that Adam surely was not Jamaican because if he was, he would not have given in to the temptation of an apple. Now, if it was nice steaming Oxtail… perhaps, but definitely not an apple…

As women we are pretty much hardwired into routine and norms and how we must operate. The moment we break free of those confines it becomes hard, scary, seemingly impossible. You were made in your Father’s image. I think most of us accept how God went about creating the world because we must, because we have to, because we believe in the Bible. If we were to stop and become really honest with ourselves, we would admit to finding God’s methods rather UNCONVENTIONAL…Eve was made from a rib…Hello!!! Come on, really… And so it is (also) with our methods to becoming more. They will seem unconventional… We invite you to read this interesting writing that is sure to inspire…click below.

What Women Can Learn – A Fall From Grace – Tyler Perry

Be your number one fan, cheerleader and your own squad. – You must be able to cheer for yourself when no one else is cheering you on. One of the things I believe we battle with as women is our need for acceptance and approval especially as we grow older. It is a fact that most men age more gracefully than women and so as we get older there are certain insecurities that may resurrect themselves. At this point and even before we must fiercely approve of ourselves and accept the changes that are imminent and boldly allow them to illuminate our space. Otherwise we are in danger.

Love unconditionally but wisely – Life is what it is and there are many things that are out of our control including love. Do not let that close you in however. It is better to experience love fully while understand that at the end of the day we are all human beings who are oftentimes guided by misaligned emotions. Be wise.

IN SEARCH OF THE ELUSIVE

Living life is a verb, not a noun. While we are unique it is not a complex theory that has to be pondered, unique is simply you finding a way to be complete without having to want what others have or do what others do.
I could go on… but I do believe that the gist has been communicated. None of us has to quit our jobs and head out on a pilgrimage in search of the elusive… all we need is right here with us in the present, in every day that we open our eyes. Stop waiting around for things to show up…it never will…go out and attack life and understand that the trajectory of your life can only be given permission by you!

… And even though you were fashioned from Adam’s rib, “he did say, bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh” and that puts you beside him (his support), and not behind him. That’s how you want to be seen.’

Six Ways Resilient Women Can Become Better At Investing

Naturally when one thinks about investing the men are usually looked at while women take care of the home. But with more women taking up space in boardrooms and shattering glass ceilings there has to be a shift in our thinking and how we view our responsibility to our financial well being. We must begin to take control and begin to build our wealth not only for ourselves but also for our loved ones.

Reasons why we should take control of our financial future through investing.

Because we can.
We are better savers.
We are living longer than men.
Plan our retirement – ensure that we will likely maintain your current standard of living.
Further wealth creation.
While we are good at saving that will get us nowhere if it sits idly in a commercial bank savings account earning less than 1% and pays out more in fees and taxes. An investment account and more broadly portfolio exposes us to opportunities that will yield a higher return and grow our money overtime. Statistically, we are said to be less likely to invest and I believe this is driven by…We invite you to click below to read entire post

Founder’s Message – Rise Above Petty

Years ago when I was in investment banking, and there was an influx of pyramid schemes popping up and investors moving their money into so called high interest yielding products. As an Investment expert I recognised from the onset that that the ability to continuously pay such high rates were not sustainable. I knew that soon the “bottom would drop out” as we would say in Jamaica and a lot of individuals, (my clients) could be facing financial problems. The result – people were locked up, individuals committed suicides, homes were lost etc. I share that to say when things are not real they do not last. I also learned from Financial powerhouse JMMB (Jamaican Investment Company) “stick to your foundation, who you are, what makes you unique and different – keep that focus” and you will succeed! Look at JMMB’s growth today… their foundation is LOVE and that has never changed. Invest in the real you and you will be okay. …read entire post by clicking below.
